ALL ABOUT FILM
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (2011)
While experimenting on a group of apes for a cure to alzheimers a young scientist befriends one intelligent chimpanzee name Caesar. Things suddenly get out of hand and the pressure pushes Caesar to lead the apes on an attack against mankind.
This is a fine example of how a blockbuster can be an intelligent well paced and thoroughly emotional ride for everyone to enjoy. Not only is this a great prequel, it is also a film that fits into the category of perfect reboots. It’s a refreshing restart for the Planet Of the Apes franchise and instantly my personal favourite Ape film followed quickly by the 1968 original.
The acting, the score and especially the effects are all top notch. However It is without doubt that Andy Serkis’ Caesar steals the show. He is phenomenal and there is one certain scene that actually blows your mind at how powerful he is as a performer through motion capture.
A truly amazing film! When I first saw the trailer a while back I admit I wasn’t impressed and it wasn’t really until two weeks ago that I started getting super excited for it and now I can say that I was completely wrong to have doubted this film at all. Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is an outstanding classic.
