Cars 2 (2011)

The first ever World Grand Prix is about to begin with three death defying races across the globe. However trouble brews backstage and it is up to Mater to save Mcqueen and his friends from the evil that lurks behind the races.  

In 2006 Pixar’s Cars was met with mixed reactions, the majority of people didn’t like it, I on the other hand enjoyed it so much I brought the Blu-ray and have watched it over and over again. When I heard Pixar’s next sequel in the works was Cars 2 I couldn’t have been happier and even though it feels somewhat different from first it is a good family film. 

Releasing Cars 2 a year after the masterpiece that was Toy Story 3 was a wise move, because quite frankly I don’t think anyone thought they were going to top it. Instead this is a roaring piece of fun that doesn’t dwell on tackling major issues, or make you cry, its a lighthearted parody of all things Bond and a admittedly a good one at that.  

Not as the great as the first or as significant but still a fast paced well executed ride across an interesting world. Oh and the Toy Story short before it was just brilliant.
