Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)

Part 2 of the Harry Potter final sees Harry, Ron and Hermione on the hunt for the last Horcruxes whilst Voldemort plans to execute his final attack. 

I admit after 10 years it was weird to finally sit down for the last ever Harry Potter film. This series is an interesting one to look back on and it is safe to say it all ends on a pretty good note; this is an epic end to the saga. Part 2 is all action and the build up to the big showdown is very fast paced, it really doesn’t let up, which for me didn’t quite sit right. 

I am probably one of the few people out there who preferred part 1 of the Deathly Hallows because part 2 just didn’t give me the feeling of dread and foreboding that the previous one did. It also didn’t feel like the epic ending I was hoping for, yes there were things I wasn’t expecting and it was a harsh ending for some of the characters but the emotion of it wasn’t there for me as much as I wanted it to.

Now don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it a lot but maybe because this and part 1 are essentially one film the rhythm is thrown off, we pick the story up exactly where the last one left off yet it has been months since we all saw part 1 so in my opinion they really shouldn’t have split the last adventure into two.

Part 2 is a good film and it is not a disappointment. It is going to be a huge film as it deserves after its ten year run. Grab your robes and wands and head out to see it because even though its not perfect it is well worth the watch.
