Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (2011)
The third film sees the Autobots fight to defend our world once again as the decepticons reveal a fifty year old plan to take over the earth.
Okay, I am going to start off by saying the main things that I didn’t like. The editing. it was choppy and rushed in places, it also kept cutting to black during really interesting scenes which threw me off whenever it happened, I later learned in the credits it was edited by three people! What were they thinking?! The orange look to all the people. This is the third film and I knew it was going to be in it again but jeez! there are scenes within TF3 that make the people really look like Oompa Loompas, it was ridiculous. The pacing. I know this was already quite a long film but why did they have to cram so much into this? I just felt like they tried to fit all their ideas into (what I suspect) this last Transformer movie, and that didn’t work, not to mention how abrupt the credits start rolling! And finally Megatron. He looks awesome but why is he such a bitch? That is all I’m going to say.
Now for the things that I liked. The score. This was amazing and I will buy this one my next shopping trip, Steve Jablonsky really gave the final film a heart pounding yet beautiful send off which stood out above everything else. The Autobots. Like the first film they have more character in this which was lacking considerably in Transformers 2, so ok for people like me I’d prefer an entire film about them, not so much around the humans but TF3 really gives us some cool and kick ass robots. The story. Yes I said it! Even though at times it is a little incoherent I like the plot and its scale is exactly what I expected from Michael Bay this film is HUGE! And finally the emotional scenes. I can’t say much but oh Bumblebee, why aren’t you my car?
If you liked the previous two or even just the first one go and see this. If you hated the other two avoid this one at all costs. Transformers 3 is dumb C.G.I fun just like its predecessors and although it doesn’t really have the magic of the first I enjoyed it nonetheless.
