X-men: First Class (2011)
As the world is gripped by the threat of nucleaur war a young Professor Xavier is called upon to teach a secret class of mutants, to control their unique powers in order to save the world from destruction.
Well I’m am not the biggest X-men fan, I loved the 90’s cartoon I liked the first film and loved X2 but X3 and Wolverine were disappointing, however I went in to the cinema with fresh eyes to see First Class and I wasn’t disappointed for the most part.
This is a well rounded popcorn flick. It’s intelligent well paced and quite well acted. The two leads Jimmy Mac and Michael Fassbender are by far the best thing about this movie and my mouth is watering to see how Fassbender will fare in my most anticipated film of next year Prometheus.
*Spoiler alert* One thing that struck me towards the end was how some of the bad guys just teamed up with the good guys for no reason other than the good guys won a battle. I was screaming to the good guys not to accept them on to their team, I mean come on!
Anyways X-men: First Class is smart, charming and good looking its another good film to come out of 2011, not perfect or anything special but it is exactly what the X-men franchise needed. I wouldn’t mind a sequel.
