The Last Song (2010

Miley Cyrus leads this tale of a rebellious teenager who learns to reconnect with her estranged father, as she spends her summer on the beaches of Tybee Island, Georgia.  

Okay well let me begin by saying what I liked about this film. It was well composed and rather well shot, a number of the scenes were well executed and gave real scope to this film which really is set in one small town on the coast. Miley Cyrus, yeah that’s right. I thought she acted higher than what my expectations were, given some scenes, but I really felt like she was pulling her weight and trying her best, so I’ll give merits to her for that.

 Now the story was however thin. It was very predictable and very disappointing, I know it wasn’t going to be something that would keep me guessing but I thought that given it was from the writer of the Notebook that it would at least surprise me somewhere but alas nothing.

Let’s just say it will give fans of Miley Cyrus something to think about but leave the more avid movie goer nothing more than a shrug becoming a forgettable experience. If you are intrigued to see this I advise watching a film called Life as a House, it’s a much more real and poignant movie.
