Your Highness (2011)
Prince Fabious, the brave and lovable prince, heads out on a quest to destroy an evil wizard after his beautiful bride to be is kidnapped. The only problem is that joining him on this noble mission is his idiotic, lazy brother Thadeous.
2011 is proving to be a great year for film. Your Highness is another film that does not disappoint, its a very funny, genre spoofing romp through a twisted medieval world. If you go into the cinema expecting something of class, or something Oscar worthy you will be sorely disappointed. David Gordon Green has brought us another hilarious character driven comedy that will keep you smiling throughout.
Now I’m not going to beat around the bush. The main reason I went to see this was because I wanted to see more Franco, Mcbride chemistry that we all fell in love with during Green’s last major film Pineapple Express, and it delivered exactly what I (and many others) were after. The cast are brilliant, that is all I can say without trying to quote the film.
To repeat myself, I don’t want to ruin the jokes by quoting them, so I’ll keep it brief. Your Highness is a great and refreshing comedy. So okay it is riding off the brilliance of Pineapple Express but it is vastly different in story and the it’s scale is what makes it so great. This is quite literally an epic comedy which reminds me of a 21st century Monty Python. Just go, see it and enjoy.
