Scream 4 (2011)
It’s a new decade, and as the poster says, there are new rules. Neve Campbell returns once again as Sidney Prescott as she returns home only to find herself once again at the end of Ghostface’s knife.
So Scream 3 was a bit of a let down to the series but Scream 4 revives the franchise with a fresh take on the genre. Without saying too much the new rules that surround this set of murders is brilliant and not what I was expecting. Wez Craven has brought yet another ace from his sleeve and still has the knack to write and direct these clever and (dare I say) unique slasher movies.
The cast all brought back the characters we know and love and the new members fit the bill well. A surprise actress I didn’t expect to be quite as good as she turned out to be was Emma Roberts, who really put a sock in my mouth.
Scream 4 stands out from most horror films that are released nowadays because it is filmed and executed like it’s predecessors; it feels much like a 90’s movie. A lot of fun and a worthy sequel to add to the franchise.
